London General Institution for the Gratuitous Cure of Malignant Diseases.

The Royal Free was the first hospital in London to give free health care to anyone who needed it.

It was initially set up in Greville Street, Hatton Garden and then moved to Grays Inn Road before a further move to Hampstead.

Updated Lincoln's Inn Fields Wikipedia page

I quite often revise wikipedia pages if I feel I have a moment. This one I did because the London Archaeologist had an article by Barbora Brederova about an excavation in the Fields, and it gave information not clearly listed on Wikipedia.
