Barbary Lions skulls found at Tower

Analyis of 3 lion's skulls found in the Moat at the Tower of London in he 1930's shows that they were from the Barbary Coast. The Tower was the home of the Royal Menagerie set up by Richard the Lionheart to house gifts given by European princes,and also to provide animals to be given as royal gifts.

It became London Zoo.
